Japanese Traditional Wooden Chirimen Fabric Covered Sewing Box

This lovely sewing box has a large top compartment and two drawers and can be used for Sewing, jewellry, cosmetics or other small items. The main structure is made of wood and the drawers are a traditional type of heavy cardboard coated and lined with paper. It is then covered on the outside with padding and rayon chirimen fabric. The drawers have metal handles and the top closes with a bamboo frog. It is beautifully made and is solid and sturdy – see photos for other details.
