The design is titled Hatōzu—a traditional Japanese term for a depiction of great rolling or surging waves. Carefully rendered curves, ripples and softly shaded areas give the waves a remarkable sense of movement and depth, while a pale crescent moon rests silently above them.

In Japanese art, waves have long represented strength, continuity and the eternal movement of nature. Here, their restless energy is balanced by the calm moon, creating a composition that feels powerful yet contemplative.

The collection name, Fūgetsu, literally refers to “wind and moon,” a poetic expression associated with the beauty of the natural world. The subdued blue-grey and natural linen tones allow the design to complement both traditional Japanese rooms and contemporary interiors.
