Item Description:
A serene Kyoto-made noren featuring trailing willow branches and gently swimming koi against a refreshing blue ground. Its translucent linen-and-cotton weave creates a cool, peaceful atmosphere.
This elegant Japanese noren is named Yanagi, meaning “willow.” Delicate willow branches cascade from above while two koi swim leisurely below, capturing the gentle movement and tranquillity of a summer waterside scene.
The divided-dye design pairs a refreshing blue ground with natural ivory motifs. Its restrained colours and flowing composition evoke the quiet charm of traditional Japan while remaining beautifully suited to contemporary interiors.
Woven from a lightweight blend of linen and cotton, the fabric has a naturally textured surface and gentle translucence. Filtered light reveals the character of the weave and gives the design a soft, airy presence.
Made in Kyoto by Manyōsha, this two-panel noren can be displayed in a doorway, used as a room divider or hung as textile artwork. Its calm palette and graceful design bring a soothing quality to both traditional and modern spaces.
The hanging rod shown in the photograph is not included.
