VTG Japanese Red Lacquered Wooden Comb Kushi-Kanzashi Hair Ornament Golden Peony

This lovely Kushi kanzashi is made of lacquered Tsuge Boxwood. The artwork is done in rich gold lacquer over a deep red lacquer base with tiny mother of pearl inlays. The motif is a Botan or Peony design.

Kanzashi like this are normally not used as a comb but rather worn as an ornament in the hair.
