Samue are a traditional Japanese folk garment worn for generations in Japan for casual home wear in the hot months of summer. These are made in a textured indigo cotton weave called “Shijira-Ori”. The patterns are woven into the fabric – not printed. The top has 3/4 length sleeves and ties across both inside and outside with a single patch pocket on the left side. The pants are long and are elasticized for comfort with a tie at the waist. Note that these do not have ties at the cuffs.
Avoid washing your Samue with white clothing at the start just to make sure as some transfer may occur. In addition, please avoid putting them in the dryer.
