Tachimachi no Tsuki — “Waiting Moon”

This beautiful tapestry is called Tachimachi no Tsuki, or “Waiting Moon.” Hand-woven from textured ramie linen, it depicts the quiet beauty of the moon rising over autumn pampas grass. The softly glowing moon, shimmering grasses and their delicate shadows create a tranquil scene filled with the atmosphere of an autumn night in Japan.

The tapestry is available in three colour variations, each giving the design a distinctly different character:

• Crimson — a rich, warm red with glowing golden grasses
• Sumi — subtle grey and charcoal tones reminiscent of Japanese ink painting
• Kyara Brown — warm, earthy autumn browns inspired by the traditional Japanese colour kyara-iro

Each tapestry includes the top and bottom hanging rods and cord, so it is ready to display.

Made in Kyoto by Rakushian, renowned for its distinctive ramie linen noren and wall tapestries. Rakushian textiles are produced in small quantities using traditional techniques, creating decorative works that combine Japanese craftsmanship with a quietly contemporary aesthetic.
