Zabuton are traditional Japanese cushions for sitting on the floor around a low table and can also be used for meditation or Tea Ceremony.
This is a set of five identical (unstuffed) cushion covers 座布団カバー printed in a traditional design on both sides. They zip along one side and hold standard 55 X 59cm cushions.
The design is of small children in kimono playing in the fields on a blue-grey background.
They were designed by renown artist Keiko Hida who is famous for her washi paper cutout art.
Stuffing for the cushions can be made from materials sold at sewing/fabric shops in your home country (choose a heavy, cotton batting – zabuton are not spongy). It is best to sew the batting into an inner cushion of plain fabric – usually off-white cotton. They should be 5-8cm thick when stuffed.
This product will add a lovely, Japanese touch to your room!
