Japanese Geisha Maiko SHIRO-NURI Pro Kona Oshiroi Pure, White Face Powder:

This is the white face powder as used by Geiko and Kabuki Actors. It is applied with a soft pad or brush (see photos) over the ‘Kabuki Oshiroi’ (Doran) white face paint to soften and blend the makeup.

This is the exact item used by the Maiko and Geisha of Gion for finishing off their Shiro-Nuri makeup. They come from a supplier in heart of the Gion Kobu ‘Hanamachi’ District that has a long history of supplying makeup to the Maiko and Geiko of Gion and to Kabuki Actors from the Minamiza.

Note: You can not produce the true opaque white makeup effect with only this item! You need an undercoat of ‘Kabuki Abura’ and ‘Kabuki Oshiroi’ white face paint prior to applying this to get the authentic effect.
