Habutae Silk Hair Net for Geisha or Kabuki Shiro-Nuri Stage Makeup

This Habutae Silk Hair Net (羽二重) is the authentic style used in Japan by Geisha, Maiko, Kabuki actors and Buyō dancers when preparing for traditional Shiro-Nuri makeup and wigs.

Made from smooth purple Habutae silk, it covers and flattens the hair, keeping it securely away from the face while Oshiroi is applied. The narrow white straps are treated with Binsuke Abura (鬢付け油) to help prevent slipping and hold everything firmly in place.

It can also be worn beneath a traditional wig to control and protect the natural hair.
