Tenugui 手ぬぐい are traditional Japanese multi-purpose towels. They are used in the bath and as sweatbands for gardening, hiking, etc.
In the bath, they are first soaked in a basin and then rubbed with soap and used to wash your entire body. They are then rinsed and used to dry off by wringing them out several times.
Their long, narrow shape allows them to be ties around the head as a sweatband or worn around the neck for work on hot days. They are perfect for hiking, gardening and cycling as they are always around your neck when you need them.
This is a set of two different tenugui printed in a colorful, nostalgic Japanese designs – you get the exact designs shown in photo No. 1.
Once you have used these, you will never want to be without one!
