This lovely Noren is called: Koi No Taki-Nobori 鯉の滝登り. It is a Summer noren, depicting a carp powerfully jumping a waterfall in cool green tones.
It is sewn over at the top to accommodate a wooden or bamboo stick (not included). It can then be hung on the wall or more typically, in the doorway. It is divided into two panels so that people may pass through.
It is made of hand-woven Ramie linen by Rakushian of Kyoto. Rakushian is famous for their Ramie linen noren curtains and kakijiku tapestries which are quality works of art produced in small quantities and normally sold exclusively in fine stores in Japan.
Made by hand in Kyoto
